PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus displaying natural and smooth image display by suppressing variation in delay time from imaging to displaying. SOLUTION: A value of a ratio between a candidate value for a frame rate of an imaging section 2, which images a subject at any one of a plurality of frame rates, and a frame rate for a first display section 7 or a second display section 8, is set to be an integer or an inverse of the integer, and the frame rate of the imaging section 2 is set in accordance with a first mode (first LV priority mode or second LV priority mode) during which priority is taken over a quality of live view display.
