PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing structure of a building which can form a comfortable living environment by securing the quietness of a room space. SOLUTION: The sound absorbing structure of the building is characterized in that: a sound absorbing means 2 is arranged at a predetermined space from a main entrance 1 in a state of facing the main entrance 1; and a section between the main entrance 1 and the sound absorbing means 2 serves as a sound absorbing space 3; the sound absorbing space 3 has openings 11a and 12a which are formed at the side of at least one of both sides of the sound absorbing space 3; and the openings 11a and 12a are formed as room entrances 11a and 12a which make the sound absorbing space 3 communicate with the room space 10 arranged adjacently to the sound absorbing space 3. Thus, the noise from the main entrance is absorbed by the sound absorbing means, hardly echoes in the sound absorbing space, and is hardly heard by a person advancing toward the room space.
