The present invention relates to a continuously variable transmission that steplessly changes gear ratios by changing pulley width, and more particularly, to a continuously variable transmission capable of increasing driving power through increasing the area of contact between a pulley and belt, and capable of quickly changing gear ratios by being able to simultaneously move each pair of conical wheels constituting a driving pulley and a driven pulley, respectively. The continuously variable transmission according to the present invention is provided with a driving pulley and a driven pulley formed with a pair of conical wheels mounted on a rotational axis to face one another and be capable of axial translation, and a belt wound and connected between the driving pulley and the driven pulley, whereby gear ratios are steplessly changed by changing the widths of the driving pulley and of the driven pulley. The transmission further comprises: gear change linkages (50, 50') connected between the driving pulley and the driven pulley for adjusting a gear ratio by axially translating each of the conical wheels constituting the driving pulley and the driven pulley; and a gear change actuator (60) connected to the gear change linkages (50, 50') for receiving a gear change input from the outside and actuating the gear change linkages (50, 50'). |
