The present invention discloses a multimedia network with content segmentation and a service method thereof. In the aforementioned method, a node in a first autonomous domain receives from a node in a second autonomous domain a request for querying segmentation storage information; the node in the first autonomous domain queries and obtains the segmentation storage information in the first autonomous domain, and transmits the information to the node in the second autonomous domain. On the basis of the technical solution provided by the present invention, physical network bandwidth between autonomous domains can be fully utilized, query efficiency of segmented contents can be improved, thereby enabling autonomous domains to share resources and providing better service experience.
