Accordingly, a wound closure system for closing a puncture wound is provided. The system includes a housing for maintaining a vacuum about a wound, a sealing assembly including a working instrument having a distal end configured to be inserted through the housing and into the wound, wherein the working instrument is further configured to close and seal the wound as the working instrument is withdrawn therefrom.
