PURPOSE: A paste coating device and a coating method are provided to reduce the weight of a substrate retention supporter when supporting a large sized substrate, and to reduce the installation space without decreasing the coating accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A paste coating device comprises the following: a gantry(2a,2b) installed on a trestle, including coating heads(10); and nozzle discharge holes discharging a pasted to a substrate located on a substrate mounting table installed on the trestle, by the movement of the gantry. A coating head includes a paste container filled with the paste, and the nozzle discharge holes discharging the paste from the container.
