PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a projection image in real time with the accurate positional relation in the direction of projection, and to eliminate restrictions on matching of the time sequence and the direction of projection in generating tomographic images. SOLUTION: Projection images in which specific values of pixels in a plurality of tomographic images are projected in a second direction X2, opposite from a first direction X1, are generated in order by processing the plurality of tomographic images arranged in the first direction X1 in a subject in the order of generation. In this case, the specific values in the plurality of tomographic images are projected in order in the second direction X2 during the period from a first threshold reaching point when the pixel values V in the plurality of tomographic images reach a first threshold TH1 till a second threshold reaching point when the pixel values reach a second threshold TH2, and the projection images are generated in order based on the projected specific values.
