PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for preventing the unauthorized usage of data concerning the structure for performing data transfer and a data processing among a drive, an application and a connection device. SOLUTION: A mutual authentication processing between the drive and the connection device is performed by way of a host device for performing the application. Concerning the authentication, sequence number certificates, which are the certificates for storing identification information corresponding to the application or an apparatus whose validity is confirmed by a management center and also storing a sequence number which is set in an approved group certificate, are mutually presented. Then both apparatuses perform a processing to confirm coincidence in the sequence number of each sequence number certificate which is stored in each self memory. The data transfer and the data processing are performed in a state with sufficient security secured therein by the authentication between the drive and the connection device.
