Platform edge protection

A platform edge guard for scaffolding comprises a mesh panel (10) having a hand rail (12) extending along its upper edge and a toe board (14) extending along its lower edge. Part of the panel (10) together with the toe board (14) provides a pivotably connected loading flap (18) which can be raised to allow for loading of materials or equipment onto an associated platform. In other versions a displaceable section which is slidable may be provided instead of a pivotable flap. Also this displaceable section may consist of only the toeboard or part of the toeboard, or it may be provided only by part of the mesh panel or it may be part of both.
