Freeze-dried composition

Freeze-dried composition (I) comprises at least one polymer based on polyacrylic acids and their salts, at least one natural polymer, optionally at least one further polymer which differs from above polymers and optionally one or more active compounds and/or auxiliary substances. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (I) comprising: (a) preparing an aqueous suspension or a solution of at least one natural polymer; (b) optionally mixing in of at least one further polymer which differs from the polymer used in step (a) or (e); (c) optionally mixing in one or more active compounds and/or auxiliary substances; (d) adjusting the pH of the aqueous suspension or solution to a pH of 3-6.5; (e) preparing an aqueous suspension or a solution of a polymer based on their polyacrylic acids and salts and adjustment of the pH of the solution to a pH of 3-6.5 with alkalis/acids, preferably alkalis; (f) combining of the suspensions or solutions prepared under (a)-(d) and under (e) and if appropriate adjustment of the pH to 3-6.5; (g) pouring or spreading out of the mixture into a mold or on to a surface; (h) freezing of the mixture; and (i) freeze drying of the mixture; and (2) a kit combination comprising (I) and at least one aqueous solution which contains one or more active compounds and/or optionally one or more auxiliary substances, in a combined spatial arrangement.
