PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing gas from occupying a spray nozzle is provided to use a de-gasificating unit for preventing bubbles blocking an opening of a nozzle orifice. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing gas from occupying a spray nozzle comprises the following: a quenching liquid source; a main liquid feeding line connected to the quenching liquid source; the spray nozzle including a body and tip(124); and a de-gasificating unit for removing gas from a coolant. The body includes a nozzle passageway(110) connected to the main liquid feeding line, and a orifice(126) emitting the jet of the coolant.
