<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing seaweed comprising suppressing unevenness in heating temperatures and/or generation of spark when heating seaweed such as sea mustard sporophyll or Nemacystus decipiens through utilizing resistance heat generation for sterilization, color development or the like so as to be suitable for continuous resistance heating in a pipeline. <P>SOLUTION: The method for processing seaweed comprises the following process: adding water to the seaweed; stirring them to be mixed with each other; applying the current to the water-added seaweed to subject the seaweed to resistance heating. The water is added to the seaweed so that the amount of water added when subjecting the water-added seaweed to the resistance heating is within 5-200 wt.%, preferably 20-100 wt.% based on the weight of the seaweed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
