PURPOSE: An expansion joint composition, an expansion joint composition manufacturing method, and an expansion joint using an elastic polymer and a construction method thereof are provided to prevent moisture from infiltrating into aggregate in long time storage and to expand the service life of the expansion joint. CONSTITUTION: An expansion joint using an elastic polymer comprises a heat-resistant backup member(170), a support plate(180), and an expansion joint composition(103). The heat-resistant backup member is inserted into a space. The support plate is installed on the floor side of an expansion joint. The support plate covers the space and the heat-resistant backup member. The expansion joint composition, with which the expansion joint is filled, covers the support plate. The expansion joint composition comprises an elastic polymer which binds coating aggregates to each other.
