489,067. Toy - railway couplings. DUNHILL, A. July 28, 1937, No. 20893. [Class 132 (iii)] An automatic coupling device for toy- . railway vehicles comprises a hook member with an inclined nose on one end of a vehicle and a draw bar pivoted on the other end for upward movement and normally maintained projecting horizontally, characterized by a tube rotatably mounted on the draw bar of sufficient length to ensure its engagement of the hook irrespective of the angular position of the two vehicles. When two vehicles approach, the tube k of the draw bar d rides up the inclined surface h of the hook member c and falls behind the same, so coupling the vehicles. The draw bar is prevented from downward movement by the cranked formation r of the ends of the draw bar. The hook member c may have a limited horizontal oscillatory freedom.
