PURPOSE: A rotary electric component is provided to improve the durability of the rotary electric component by reducing the wear of the slid contact part of a common sliding contact and a common pattern. CONSTITUTION: A code member(7) comprises a conversion pattern(7c) of a conductive common pattern(7d). A conversion sliding contact point(9a) is slid to be contact to the conversion pattern. The common sliding contact point(9b) is slid to be contact to the common pattern. The code member is relatively rotated to be moved on the conversion sliding contact point and the common sliding contact. A non conductive part(73b) corresponding to the non conductive part of the conversion pattern is formed at the common pattern.
