Provided are organic electronic devices comprising at least one layer comprising at least one complex of the formula: where M is Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Re, Sn, and Ge; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 are each independently F, Cl, CF3, diarylamine, carbazolyl, alkoxy, cyano, alkyl or aryl, wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 is carbazolyl; and a, b, c, d, e, f, g, and h are each 0, 1, 2, or 3, at least one of which is other than zero.
