PURPOSE: A mobile wireless communications device antenna assembly with an antenna element and a floating director element on a flexible substrate and related methods are provided to reduce SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) by orienting an RF energy far away from a user head. CONSTITUTION: A circuit board(37) is maintained by a portable housing(24). The circuit board comprises a ground plane(39) on top. A wireless communication circuit(38) is supported by the circuit board. An antenna assembly is maintained by the housing. A conductive antenna element is contacted with the wireless communication circuit and the ground plane.
