LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE WITH AIR PASSES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A light emitting element and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to efficiently emit photons generated from the inside of the light emitting element toward the outside by forming an air-passage in a nitride semiconductor. CONSTITUTION: Semiconductor layers(130, 140, 150) include a continuous shape of air-passage(184) on a substrate. The air-passage is formed into a trapezoidal shape. Electrode pads(171, 172) are prepared on the upper side of semiconductor layers. An external current is applied to the semiconductor layers through the electrode pads. The semiconductor layers function as a light emitting area.
