PURPOSE: An exhaust heat collecting system for a vehicle is provided to collect heat discharged to the atmosphere through the exhaust gas of an engine. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust heat collecting system for a vehicle comprises an external combustion engine(9), a cooling unit(11), and a generator(7). The external combustion engine comprises a heating unit(3) connected to an engine exhaust system. The cooling unit cools a cooling unit(5) of the external combustion engine. The external combustion engine is formed of the heating unit and a Stirling engine with a cooling portion. The cooling unit comprises a water-cooling device which cools the cooling portion by circulating cooling water.
