FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to separation of solid particles/fluids from fluid. Proposed separator is arranged between flash vaporisation tank and heat exchanger in Bayer process plant and comprises fluid inlet and outlet, outlet for separated solid particles, and vane swirler arranged downstream of fluid inlet but upstream of fluid outlet and outlet for separated solid particles. Vane swirler is arranged to act on fluid flow so that entrapped solid particles and fluid move radially sideways due to inertia. Note here that fluid outlet is located on one line with fluid inlet and vane swirler. Note also that feed into solid particles outlet id carried out by collector arranged radially. ^ EFFECT: minimum heat losses, improved performances. ^ 7 cl, 3 dwg |
