<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatization catalyst for producing an aromatic compound such as benzene, naphthalene, etc. as well as hydrogen gas by using a lower hydrocarbon such as natural gas or the like and their production method. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst comprising a catalytic material, which contains Re or one or more of its compounds as an indispensable component and, if necessary, Zn, Ga, Co, Fe or one or more of their compounds, and a metallosilicate is used. In the presence of the catalyst and co-presence of carbon monoxide and/or carbon dioxide, an aromatic compound and hydrogen are produced by using a lower hydrocarbon as a raw material. An aromatic hydrocarbon such as benzene, toluene, xylene, naphthalene, etc. and hydrogen are efficiently produced. Also, if reaction is carried out in the co-presence of carbon monoxide and/or carbon dioxide, the reaction conversion efficiency is improved and further, decrease of the production speed with the lapse of time is suppressed and thus stable capability for a long duration can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
