摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify decoding processing and to shorten a decoding delay while ensuring reliability for a decoding result. <P>SOLUTION: A decoding apparatus 1 comprises a survival path selector 12 and a Tail-biting candidate selector 14. In the survival path selector 12, all path metrics in an initial state are initialized with the same weight, a survival path #1 in a state transition from the initial state to a final state is selected thereafter, and further, with the path metric corresponding to the path #1 as an initial state, a survival path #2 from the initial state to N before the final state is selected. In the Tail-biting candidate selector 14, a path having the maximum total value of each of branch correlation metrics corresponding to all the state transitions from N before the final state to the final state and the metric value of the path #2 is selected as a maximum-likelihood path under the condition where the final state and the initial state are matched with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
