PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment returning function setting to original setting easily, even when the unintended function setting is executed by a simple operation, a control method for the portable electronic equipment, and a control program for the portable electronic equipment. SOLUTION: This portable electronic equipment includes an operation part having a plurality of operation keys, a memory part for storing information, and a control part for setting a prescribed function, when one of the operation keys is operated by a prescribed operation. The control part stores information concerned in the function setting in the memory part, informs a user of the information, makes the user select the propriety of maintaining the function setting, and maintains the function setting or returns the function setting to the original setting, in response to the selection of the user.
