PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method improved for automated analysis of a sample, such as a urine, for the requirement of a more cost-effective process and purposes for improving the reliability and the precision of a test in the detection limitation of a specimen. SOLUTION: The system includes a first optical device containing a container-associated optical unit for measuring the color of a sample, a second optical device containing test-element-associated optical unit capable of detecting corresponding to at least one feature different from the color of the sample, and a control unit set corresponding to the first result associated with the color of the sample so as to control the analysis of the sample so that the decision is done whether the measurement of the feature of the sample is performed or not.
