PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic tripping device of a circuit breaker capable of preventing generation of humming noise, without greatly changing conditions such as a dimension of a tripping device of a conventional structure. SOLUTION: A movable electromagnetic piece 2 is structured of a magnetic plate 2a covering nearly 60% of a lateral U-shaped opening of a fixed electromagnetic piece 1, and hinge members 2b holding the magnetic plate 2a and equipped with hinging pieces 12 made of a non-magnetic material for hinging to a right and left side plates 1b to the fixed electromagnetic piece 1, with a minimum distance between the magnetic plate 2a in an open state and the fixed electromagnetic piece 1 to be 1.0 mm, and a maximum distance to be 3.0 mm, and with the lateral U-shaped opening of the magnetic plate arranged separated from the hinging pieces 12.
