METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOGNIZING TOUCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for recognizing a touch, for precisely performing touch recognition in an optical sensor system.

SOLUTION: The method for recognizing the touch of a touched object on a display device including an information input function using optical sensors includes steps of: (a) detecting the touch of an object by utilizing a contact-detecting layer provided in the display device; (b) performing control to output sensor scan signals for driving the optical sensors when the object is touched; (c) generating an image of the object from sensor signals sensed by the optical sensors and detecting touch points from the object image; and (d) recognizing of the touch operation of the object based on the detected touch points.
