PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask structure capable of generating a swirl and a tumble in a cylinder in response to a load. SOLUTION: Swirl masks 9 and 10 for guiding an intake flow in the tangent direction of the cylinder and tumble masks 11 and 12 for guiding the intake flow in the radial direction of the cylinder, are arranged in a partially overlapping shape on the outer periphery of opening parts 7 and 8 for seating intake valves 1 and 2. A height HS of the swirl masks 9 and 10 is lower than a height HT of the tumble masks 11 and 12, and a clearance with a head part of the intake valve 2 is also relatively smaller in the swirl masks 9 and 10. Since a maximum lift quantity of the intake valves 1 and 2 changes in response to the load by a variable valve train, in a small lift, the swirl is generated by an intake guide by the swirl masks 9 and 10, and in an intermediate lift, the tumble is generated by the tumble masks 11 and 12.
