PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the orientation of a (c) plane can not be accurately controlled by ECAP. SOLUTION: Extrusion processing wherein a material having a composition to become a thermoelectric material containing rhombohedral crystal is extruded with a metal mold such that a pressurization axis and an extrusion axis are different and the shape of a pressurization passage in a section perpendicular to the pressurization axis is the same as the shape of an extrusion passage in a section perpendicular to the extrusion axis is carried out a plurality of times to produce the thermoelectric material such that a (c) plane of the rhombohedral crystal is oriented to a specified orientation made to correspond to an attitude when the material is refed to the pressurization passage in the extrusion processing.
