A method of wireless communication is disclosed that includes receiving a plurality of samples from a transmission of a known sequence (502); identifying a peak position in the known sequence (506) based on a correlation of the plurality of samples and the known sequence (504); and adjusting the identified peak position based on an offset (510). An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed herein.
