<p>The present invention relates to an acidic, aqueous, particulate composition comprising, in addition to iron(III) ions, fluoride ions and at least one water-insoluble, dispersed, organic binder, a water-insoluble, dispersed, oxidic pigment possessing high stability with respect to agglomeration, for the autophoretic deposition of organic-inorganic hybrid layers on metal surfaces, the composition further comprising at least one anionic wetting agent which has functional groups selected from sulphonates, phosphonates and/or carboxylates. The invention further encompasses the use of such a composition for the self-deposition of a film-forming organic-inorganic hybrid coating on metal surfaces selected at least in part from surfaces whose primary constituents are iron, zinc and/or aluminium.</p> |
