PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire wherein, when the layer containing a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition which is obtained by dispersing an elastomer component in the thermoplastic resin is disposed as an air permeation prevention layer on the inner surface of the tire to trim weight, even if the tire having such air permeation prevention layer disposed on the surface is left unattended outside, the air permeation prevention layer is not deteriorated due to the sunlight and the air permeation prevention function is not deteriorated. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the pneumatic tire includes the step for disposing the air permeation prevention layer containing the thermoplastic resin on the inner surface of the tire, the step for vulcanizing the tire, and the step for forming a degradation suppression layer containing an antiaging agent on the surface of the air permeation prevention layer of the vulcanized tire.
