PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for minimizing starting time of a gas turbine. SOLUTION: According to one aspect, this invention relates to a method of controlling a transition of a gas turbine (10). This method includes receiving a request for driving the gas turbine (10) by an increased load. The increased load is greater than a load being driven by the gas turbine (10) when receiving the request. This method further includes determining whether or not the temperature of fuel to be ignited within a combustor (20) of the gas turbine (10) is lower than the target temperature of the fuel to be introduced into the combustor (20) for driving the increased load. This method also includes controlling the introduction of an additive into the combustor (20) of the gas turbine (10) when the temperature of the fuel is lower than the target temperature, to attain a suitable Wobbe Index of a fuel combination of the fuel and the additive, to promote a substantially continuous transition of the gas turbine (10) to driving in the increased load.
