The present invention relates to a device for detecting the state of a gripping member, said member having at least one open state and one closed state and the transition from one state to the other taking place by means of or as a result of a rotary or pivoting movement of at least one first portion relative to at least one second portion of said member, the rotary position of said at least one first portion relative to said at least one second portion indicating the state of said gripping member. The detection device (1) is characterised in that said device is made up of a rotation or circular movement detector (4), the body or casing (5) thereof being rotatably secured to one of the aforementioned first and second portions (3, 3') and including a rotary detection element (6), the position and/or rotary movement thereof being read by measurement and/or assessment means (7, 7') suitable for outputting a measurement and/or state signal, said detection element (6) being rotatably attached to a drive element (8) which is part of or added to the other one of the first and second portions (3, 3'). |
