<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable shaping in desired finishing dimensions even if a shape has a lot of bendings or a thermoplastic resin before crystallization is used for shaping. <P>SOLUTION: In a method and apparatus for shaping a coil end of a stator coil to bend a scheduled part of a coil end of an insulation-coated conductor with a rectangular wire coated with an insulator by the press die for shaping the scheduled part of the coil end of the stator coil into a predetermined shape, the blade parts (concave forming die 15a and convex forming die 20a) of the press die (die 15 and punch 20) are structured so that a gap between the blade parts of the press die in pressing is formed to be different from a gap W1 at the linear part B1 corresponding to the linear part at the scheduled part (coil end) of the coil end and a gap W2 at the nonlinear part B2 corresponding to the nonlinear part at the scheduled part of the coil end. This structure can have a desired shape of finishing dimensions (in an allowable area) even if the expansion/contraction degree of the insulator at the linear section differs from that at the nonlinear section in pressing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
