PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting control system using a video processing apparatus, which achieves an optimal viewing environment, saves energy, and improves user convenience. SOLUTION: In order to obtain an optimal lighting environment corresponding to rough categories set in advance to a video processing apparatus, the video processing apparatus controls luminance of a light source of a lighting device, chromaticity and a lighting direction. Furthermore, the video processing apparatus is turned on/off in accordance with on/off of room lighting. Moreover, when the video processing apparatus is turned on, the video processing apparatus reproduces a designated image or video image, and music or sound accompanying the image.
