PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirling engine that provides large output work with less input work, enables operation even when temperature difference is small in a regenerator unit 3, and has a simple structure. SOLUTION: In a stirling engine which includes a regenerator unit 3 arranged on a gas-filled tubular cylinder 2, and amplifies energy input from one end of the cylinder 2, to output the energy to the other end of the cylinder 2, a plurality of regenerator units 3 are arranged in series in the cylinder 2.
