PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control the developing direction of crack caused in destruction of an object to be destroyed. SOLUTION: A cartridge 2 of a discharge impact destructive device 1 includes a destruction container 21, a destructive material 22 filled in the container 21 and being combustible under an oxygen-free environment, a pair of electrodes 23 and a metal thin wire 24. In the discharge impact destructive device 1, electric energy is supplied to the electrodes 23 to melt and vaporize the metal thin wire 24, a burning reaction is caused in the material 22 by high temperature of a plasma generated during and after the melting and vaporization to destroy the object by an impact force generated by expansion of the material in the burning. The propagation speed of the burning surface is set to acoustic velocity or less, whereby the material 22 can be burnt without detonation. Consequently, the developing direction of crack can be easily predicted based on the size of a free surface of the object 9 to be destroyed (i.e., the surface where stress is released) or the distance between the cartridge 2 and the free surface to easily control the developing direction of crack.
