PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device performing incorrect insertion preventing processing using only normal sensors when any of a plurality of sensors breaks down. SOLUTION: The disk device 100 includes: a conveying mechanism conveying an inserted disk D in an inner part of a casing and ejecting the disk from the inner part of the casing; a rotating and driving part including a turntable 20 rotating and driving the disk; a detection part including a plurality of detectors disposed on a disk conveying path between a disk insertion slot and the turntable and outputting a detection result changing according to insertion or ejection of the disk; and an incorrect insertion preventing processing part discriminating incorrect insertion of the disk using the detection result of the plurality of detectors, switching discrimination specification when any of the plurality of detectors breaks down, discriminating incorrect insertion of the disk using only the detection result of the normal detectors and controlling the conveying mechanism upon incorrect insertion of the disk to eject the disk.
