PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antitheft mechanism for a portable working machine covering a recessed groove housing a lifting lug at an upper surface of a hood by a cover plate which can be locked. SOLUTION: The lifting lug 25 locking a hook of a crane is housed in the groove 20 formed on a top plate 11 of the hood, and an upper part of the recessed groove at a holding location of the lifting lug is covered by the cover plate 50. The cover plate is formed a little bit narrower than width of the recessed groove, and can be fitted in the recessed groove. Both ends in a width direction of the cover plate are locked by guide rails 6 attached to the sidewall upper part of the recessed groove. The cover plate slides in a longitudinal direction of the groove and moves between a close position covering the upper part of the lifting lug and an open position shifting from the upper part of the lifting lug. A partition wall 70 partitioning an inside of the recessed groove is disposed below one end 50a of the cover plate at the close position. The cover plate is locked to the partition wall by the locking means at the close position to be disabled to slide, and lifting of the working machine by the lifting lug is disabled.
