The method involves determining a compressor inlet temperature, determining a pressure ratio and determining plugging border on basis of the compressor inlet temperature and the pressure ratio independently of a load pressure temperature. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determination of a plugging border of a compressor of a turbocharger; and (2) a storage unit.
