<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system that benefits both a user and a service provider. <P>SOLUTION: The portable device obtains access right information for receiving distribution information from a distribution server. The portable device sends an authentication request including the obtained access right information to an authentication server, and sends the position information of the current position to the authentication server upon receiving information indicating authentication and confirmation. The authentication server generates key information for canceling a copyright protection process for the distribution information based on the position information, and sends this key information to the portable device. The portable device receives and retains the key information.
