The arrangement has a switching contact (3) arranged in a current branch and fixed and moving contacts (4, 5). The moving contact is movable relative to the fixed contact. A moving mechanism is provided for opening a switching contact for testing by utilizing the moving contact that is movable independent of a switching mechanism (6) of a circuit breaker (1). The moving contact is supported with springs relative to the switching mechanism. The moving mechanism includes a movably supported moving element e.g. roll, and a coupling element e.g. flexible cable pull. An independent claim is also included for a testing method for examining an operability of a contact system of a circuit breaker.
