The enclosure comprises an array of sub-frames (18) each supporting resiliently-mounted slat members (20) with gaps therebetween, a sheet member (40) being provided beneath the slat members for directing caught golf balls to a collecting device (42). A golf driving range (200) comprises several targets (202) and UHF aerials (204) for detecting codes associated with tags inside the golf balls.
