<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration type drive device capable of optimizing a drive frequency. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration type drive device includes an electromechanical conversion element, a drive member to be vibrated by the electromechanical conversion element, and a moving object frictionally engaged with the drive member. In the drive device, a periodic detection voltage not relatively displacing the moving object for the drive member is applied to the electromechanical conversion element, a phase difference between the detected voltage and a current flowing through the electromechanical conversion element is detected, and a frequency of the drive voltage for relatively displacing the moving object for the drive device is decided on the basis of the phase difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
