PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform a series of hard and troublesome operations of folding sheets of newspaper to one-eighth, and tying them tightly with a cord in the case of putting them out for resource recovery or the like by making a newspaper box, an attached press bar and a hook serve as the same as the operations. SOLUTION: A newspaper tying box is provided where sheets of the newspaper 22 in the body 2 of the newspaper box are pressed by the press bar 8 so as to be held in place by a stopper. During this time, the cord 21 is wound around the sheets of the newspaper 22 using a cord winding stick, and cut by the blade of the hook 13. Then, the cord 21 is twisted by a hook stick so as to be fastened. Lastly, the press bar 8 can be removed from the body 2 by grasping the grip of the handle of the press bar 8.
