METHOD TO PERFORM A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION IN A DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM

A method for performing wireless communication in a data- collection system, which system comprises a plurality of devices (2) communicating with one another over a first data network (3) performed by means of a single channel and wherein the access to the channel is based on a Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) data- transmission technique, comprises in each of said devices (2) : a) listening whether said channel is free or busy and if the channel is free, transmitting; b) if the channel is busy, generating a random number and associating therewith a first interval of time (21) to determine the instant of the start of transmission and further whether said channel is busy, identifying a second variable interval of time (22), monitoring the data exchanged in said channel with other devices that occupy the channel, queuing a third interval of time (23) obtained from said first interval of time (21) onto said second interval of time and transmitting at the end of said third interval of time (23). The second interval of time (22) has a duration that is 0 equal to the time wherein the channel remains in busy status.
