The method involves attaching friction value-increasing articles i.e. steel pins, during driving operation at a vehicle tire (12). The friction value-increasing articles are projected in the vehicle tire, where the friction value-increasing articles are fixed in a carrier band and the carrier band is wound on the vehicle tire. The friction value-increasing articles are mounted at the vehicle tire with respect to an activation signal that is released manually by a driver. An independent claim is also included for a device for increasing a friction value between a vehicle tire and a roadway during winter seasons.
