<p>Apparatus for applying a magnetic field to a subject, the apparatus including a body having a plurality of magnetic regions, each magnetic region generating a magnetic field having a polarity opposed to that of magnetic fields generated by adjacent magnetic regions, thereby generating magnetic field gradients; and, a shield positioned on a first side of the body, wherein in use, a second side of the body is positioned adjacent to the subject such that at least one magnetic field gradient penetrates the subject.</p> |
