METHOD, DEVICE AND LINE FOR CLEANING AND POLISHING ROLLED STRIP AND SHEET METAL

The proposed method, device and line can be used in metallurgy for cleaning and polishing rolled strip and sheet metal. The method is carried out with the aid of a centrifugal layer of shot and involves the progressive perpendicular movement of the rolled metal between two centrifugally actuated oppositely flowing layers that are horizontally arranged and have a tapered shape, the periphery of which passes into respective cylindrical processing crowns which are oriented towards each other and in which throttles are symmetrically mounted. Part of the working shot is continuously extracted; furthermore, the cutting edges of the shot are restored and the pressure and temperature are adjusted by the smooth conversion of the potential energy of pressure into outflow kinetic energy. When the quantity of shot and the angular velocity of the two layers are equal, a uniform pressure is maintained on each side of the rolled metal surface. The proposed processing line for cleaning, grinding and polishing strip and sheet metal consists of a certain number of technologically linked devices between which the rolled metal to be processed passes in a vertical direction at a speed synchronized with the operating parameters of the line program control.
