摘要 A stacked crystal array (46) includes a plurality of crystal slices (20) and a plurality of interconnects (22). The interconnects (22) have electrically conductive, spaced-apart and generally parallel elements (34) joined by electrically conductive spacers (36) extending generally orthogonally therebetween, the spacers (36) being rotationally offset from each other by a predetermined angle. The array (46) further includes a plurality of electrical insulators (24) and an electrically insulative housing (26) having a plurality of slots (40). The crystal slices (20), insulators (24) and interconnects (22) are arranged in the housing (26) to form an assembly wherein the crystal slices (20) are coupled together in a parallel electrical circuit. The assembly provides photon absorption comparable to a monolithic crystal having a thickness generally equivalent to the sum of the thicknesses of the crystal slices (20), but at a lower bias voltage.
